LNRS Data Viewer
This data viewer provides Responsible Authorities and interested parties with access to national scale open data held by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to assist in the preparation of their Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS).
Environment Agency Catchment Explorer
This is the EA’s repository for their most up-to-date data. The data contained is principally Water Framework Directive Classifications and the reasons for water bodies not achieving good status (RNAGS). You can integrate data to a sub-catchment scale.

The Clean Rivers and Seas Plan is an interactive map showing all our planned improvement projects for each individual storm overflow in our region. The map shows active and planned projects, complete with an at-a-glance overview of all the relevant details.
Riverfly Data Browser
The Riverfly Partnership supports projects that are designed to assess the health of the UK’s rivers. Volunteers are trained to become citizen scientists and join a team to monitor their local river. They detect and report serious pollution incidents and create long-term data sets.
FreshWater Watch Data Hub
FreshWater Watchers around the world are uploading valuable data on freshwater quality, including nitrate levels, phosphate levels, turbidity, and visual factors. This data is freely available to use by anyone interested in exploring and improving water quality, including research scientists, governments and policymakers.
National River Flow Archive
The National River Flow Archive (NRFA), based at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, is the UK’s official record of river flow data.
We collate, curate and provide access to data from over 1,600 gauging stations all around the UK, including the extensive networks operated by the Environment Agency (England), Natural Resources Wales, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and for Northern Ireland, the Department for Infrastructure - Rivers.

Natural England’s Green Infrastructure Framework Mapping
Defra and Natural England have developed an England-wide Green Infrastructure mapping database, bringing together data from around 50 sources of environmental and socio-economic data. It will provide an England level baseline and assist local authorities and other stakeholders to assess green infrastructure provision against the emerging GI Standards.

Interactive map containing national scale data, that includes targeting and scoring to identify priority areas for various aspects of the environment, including water and biodiversity.
INNS Mapper
INNS Mapper is an app and website for the reporting of sightings, surveys and management of INNS (Invasive Non-Native Species) in England, Wales and Scotland. INNS Mapper is free to use and aims to provide an effective resource to support INNS programmes and coordinate efforts.

River Lavant River Condition Assessment and Walkover Survey Report 2024
The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) commissioned a River Condition Assessment and walkover survey of the upper Lavant between East Dean and East Lavant. The purpose of the survey was to build a greater understanding of the physical characteristics and naturalness of the river corridor and identify the factors that are currently exerting a negative impact on the river system and its resilience to pressures from wastewater pollution.
Arun & Rother Explorer Pack
The Arun & Rother Explorer resource pack is designed to support learning across a range of curriculum areas at Key Stages 1 and 2 including geography, history, science, maths and English.
It brings together a number of resources which have been used by different education providers in this region in recent years. The idea was to bring these resources into one place and to make it as easy as possible for teachers to use the Arun and Rother rivers for teaching (both indoors and outside the classroom).
